whats the best way to strip the color out of your hair. i dyed my hair black and want to take it out now. its been about 1 1/2 months since i dyed it

I DID THAT EXACT THING FOR HALLOWEEN, I WENT AS THE GRUDGE AND LOOKING BACK AT IT I SHOULD OF BOUGHT THE WIG, OR PUT BLACK PAINT IN MY HAIR BUT FINALLY I GOT IT OUT AND THANK GOODNESS MY MOMS A HAIRSTYLEST CAUSE OTHERWISE I WOULD BE DOOMD.

OK HERES WHAT YOU DO:

*DAWN DISH SOAP- that helps strip it out. its cheap and it works but thats only one of the steps. this will weaken the black out too.

*DONT TRY DYING IT BLOND OR LIGHTER IT WILL ONLY MAKE IT WORSE- if you do this it will catch the roots and you will end up with blond roots and black hair.

**KEEP YOUR HAIR AS HEALTHY AS POSSIBLE**- in order to do any type of striping or coloring, U MUST KEEP YOUR HAIR HEALTHY, by this i mean condition VERY WELL, after you shampoo, put a little more then normal of conditioner and leave it in for at least 5-10mins. what i did is i put the conditioner on then put my hair in a shower cap leave it in there and then wash my body or so if your taking a shower, then after that take the hair out of the cap and wash it. this will straingthen it. you will be able to tell when your hair is ready. but if you dont have healthy hair, then yes it will fri and be badly damage!

*HIGHLIGHTS*****-THIS IS UR BEST WAY TO GO- this will even it and help it grow out nartuley. trust me, hightlights will give it an even turn out as it grows. i mean just look at my pic,

you can try striping with that expencive stuff but i had this happen to me, and it was a curse and so i know how it sucks dying it black cause that saying "ONCE YOUVE GONE BLACK YOU CAN NEVER GO BACK" applys to hair too.

its really good that you waitd this long, cause you did weaken it a little but unless you highlight it, you wont get it out.

also a good place to ask about this is if you have a place called "SALLYS" around , its a hair saloon product store and you can buy the best stuff there pretty cheaper then going to the sallons. if you know some one that been to a hairschool, they can help you with the high light cap. and also sorry to say but longer hair is really hard to strip, i cut my 2 alittle around shoulder leghth and its got right out. this will help the the highlights to catch more and strip the black out. now dont do the whole head with bleach you will kill your hair!!!!

it is not only going to be hard to remove but harder to do and keep your hair strong.. I did this once, and it was a nightmare.

I dyed it blue/black and wanted my golden brown color after a few months and i went to a salon to strip it. They only could achieve a warm black hue and the damage it caused to get that made me have to cut my hair from mid back length to chin length and regrow it out healthy again because the stripping fried it so much it just broke off..

Be careful with this and possibly just ride it out by cutting it away as time goes on instead of stripping it

i dyed my hair black too about 5 years ago,... it was just for a musical,...musical ended... and i tried stripping it so i could get my hair color back. i tries it 6 times and it just came out awkward colors like a calico cats fur. i gave up went to a salon and got it done there just check for pricing, and thats the only way unless you want to shave your head which i highly doubt you want to do. hope i helped. but if you are gonna try to do it by yourself,... go to one of those salon places where they sell the products and get this stuff that is like blue powderstuff thats you mix w/ bleach for hair not clothes, and mix ask them and they'll help but i recommend that you go get it stripped out professionally.

I dyed my hair black about 3 months ago. My natural hair is medium brown. I used this stuff called Color Oops by Develop Plus. You can buy it at Walgreens. It's 12.99, no bleach or ammonia. It doesn;t fry your hair like if you were to strip it. You can even dye your hair the same day to the color you want. Try this before stripping it. Good luck!
