Want to dye half black half brown hair blonde?

I used to dye my brown hair black and have now started to grow it out to dye it blonde. I don't want to lose too much length, so I don't want to have all of the black hair cut off and let a hairdresser just dye the brown that's left. Should I dye all of my hair black before going blonde, so that my hair's all one colour to start? This probably seems like the best idea, but I also don't want to severely damage my hair with excessive dying, as it's also curly and hard to keep in condition. Though I have bleached my hair at home and at a salon before and my hair was in much better condition after leaving the salon; they probably use better dyes, plus they know what they're doing!!!

I went from black to platnium blonde ... then decided to go back dark again, my hair didn't get damaged surprisingly but I went to a professional. TRUST ME. A job like this needs to be left to a professional hair stylist, black is one of the hardest colours to get out and can turn horrible gingery red colour when its stripped , and bleaching often looks like crap when done on your own

Oh my god. I had blonde/black hair for years and this fall I decided to go completely blonde after letting the black grow out a little bit. ... It's freaking red man. I swear I thought that those were just horror stories you heard about when people get red hair.. but it happened to me. They left bleach on my hair for 5 hours, I swear to you!! I'm scared to ever dye it black again. Good luck whatever you do.

DONT dye your hair black before dying it blonde.

When you dye black hair to blonde it turns ginger. Because theres so much dark pigment in black, its very difficult to lift it blonde. the lighter your hair is the better.

It doesnt matter if its not all one colour at the moment. that can easily be solved through a good high bleach (40% vol)

Trust me, iv done it myself

How to Remove Hair Dye That Is Too Dark

Sometimes, even when you閳ユ獧e careful, your new hair color can leave you less than thrilled. Read on to learn how you can remove some or all of the dye from your hair. The procedure changes depending on if you're trying to remove lighter or darker hair dye.

Step One

If you decided to try on a darker shade of hair color only to have it turn into a nightmare, rest assured that steps can be taken to correct this blunder. The key is to act as quickly as possible for best results. It is much easier to remove dye from your hair if the color is just a few days old.

Step Two

Try L閳ユ┉real閳ユ獨 Color Zap for a quick at-home reversal of your color blunder. This easy-to-use kit works after one application, gently removing dye from your hair while leaving your natural hair color intact and ready to re-color. This product works even on permanent hair dye.

Step Three

If your new hair dye is only marginally darker than desired, you may want to try prematurely fading it. If the color you used was a semi-permanent color, rest assured that these colors fade quickly on their own and the process can be sped up by simply washing your hair more often.

Step Four

If your too-dark hair dye is permanent, it can sometimes be faded by washing with a clarifying shampoo. Use one that is designed to remove product build-up or chlorine build-up from swimmer閳ユ獨 hair. These shampoos remove anything coating the hair shaft, including excess pigment.

Step Five

Clarifying shampoos not doing it for you? Try using Head and Shoulders dandruff shampoo. This shampoo has long been known for its ability to strip color from hair. If you really need to fade your too-dark hair quickly, try shampooing with Head and Shoulders until your hair fades to the desired shade.

Tips %26amp; Warnings

If you are thinking about coloring your hair darker but you aren't sure how thrilled you will be with the results, try using a semi-permanent hair color first. These dyes will give you all the fabulous color you want, but without the commitment. They wash out in 4 to 6 weeks, at which time you can opt for permanent dye.

i would sugest going to a professional colour tech , because there is so much pigment in dark hair to lift, your hair will need stripping completley of any red/ brown tones in the hair.

if this is to costley then your other alternative is to buy a pre lightner, i suggest getting a few boxes as youll probley need to do this a few time....but be aware....1, your hair may turn a nasty coulour of orange...2...this can really damage your har so if you do decide to use a pre lightner invest in an extremley good intensive comditioner/masque. check this site for more infomation :)
