Question for fellow black people ~ or if u kno about black hair?

Ok, im black ofcourse and i have really thick hair, i dont my hair isnt real short but it isnt real long, and i dont care to put perms im my hair because it think that it damages my hair, so anyways im trying to get my hair to grow.... should i use white people products do you think it will work on black hair or does it matter, what should i do to make my hair grow.???

It honestly does not matter which products you use. However, I have a friend who has very thick natural hair and she uses pantene pro-v the bottles that were made for people of color. Also, keep your scalp greased. We black people do not need to watch our hair everyday, therefore, it can get pretty dry. If all else fails get it braided and keep it braided. MY friend who has natural hair constantly braids her hair. This allows her scalp to breathe and ultimately her hair grows.

NOOOOOO! do not use the white ppl stuff. it can damage ur hair worse that a perm duz{since u said that duz damage} if anything put a sweet lotion {for hair not leg or body} like the JUST FOR ME CREAM. that duz wonders to black ppl hair. to make ur hair grow longer add soem sugar...im not saying pour like a bag of sugar on i but sweet stuff like that. try shampooin and conditioning every saturday or sunday. with the JUST 4 ME shampoo and condit..... that should help....

I get my hair done every two weeks and a perm every 6 weeks. It does not damage your hair as long as you go to someone who knows what they are doing. My hair is really long because have Native Americans in my family. (I know everybody says that, but I really do) I would not use white people products because black people's hair is a lot thicker than white people's hair. It probably will not work as well. My friend is trying to get pregnant and is on prenatal pills and her hair is growing fast and it is very healthy. I don't know if that is an option for you but it works well. Hope I helped. Good Luck!

All of my friends are black and of course I'm the mixed chick out the group. I think you should grease your scalp when u wake up in the morning and then use pink moisturizer at night and wrap your hair b4 u go 2 bed. That should help and it will make ur hair soft and not as thick as it is now!!

Question for fellow black people ~ or if u kno about black hair?

u should get an professional to put a perm in ur hair but if this is ur first time then u could put (just for me ) that is a really good perm for starters and kids or u can start greasing ur hair often or straighten or hot combs dont put white people poducts in because u just wasting ur money specialy if ur hair is thick like mines

Use products designed for black people, as our hair is different from our white counterparts. To help your hair grow, try Carrot Oil Organic Root Stimulator. You have to also remember to massage your scalp nightly to help in the growing process. Have a look at this Motions site, they have great black hair products and various solutions for different hair problems:

Most of the products are made by white people, so I don't know what options you really have. These ads for pantene catered to black people are hoaxes. Try out different products and see what works best for you, not your race. I don't perm my hair and I use the most natural ingredients I can find (olive oil, carrot oil ) and Carol's Daughter products, which are fabulous for the hair! You should take a vitamin, exercise, drink plenty of water and don't forget to trim your hair every 6-8 weeks.
