Male Short Thick Black Hair Grows Outwards Forward In One Direction and Sticks Up - Flatten?

Hi

I am Male and I have Short Thick Black Hair that Grows Outwards; Forward In One Direction and Sticks Up/Out. Is there any way that I can get my hair to start growing flat or otherwise flatten my hair.

I use gel at the moment, but when my hair becomes wet the gel ware off and so my hair sticks out like normal again.

Are there any products out there that I can buy to help my hair flatten?
