Can i dye my black hair back to blonde?

im a natural medium blonde, but ive been dyeing my hair in black for a year or so. i kind of got tired of it, and i was thinking of having my blonde hair back. i dont know how to grow it back, except to first dye it blonde. im afraid im really gonna damage my hair. they told me in hair salon they can not dye it blonde from black. i have very long hair, maybe it would halp if i cut it? any ideas what i should do?

If even a salon said they couldn't do it, then you should definitely not do it yourself.

Just one question: did you go to an all-inclusive salon (cuts, colors, perms, etc) or did you go to a salon that specializes in coloring?

If you didn't, it may be worth your while to go to one and ask, although the process will probably be costly and at least slightly damaging to your hair.

Maybe you could dye it a brown color so you don't have black hair w/blonde roots? Just an idea...

If you do though go through this make sure you deep condition your hair and give it breaks in between bleaching.

You can definetly do it! I have, well .. from brown to brown. But there was a little step in between. It's called "stripping your hair". aka Bleaching. They sell the kits at Wal-Mart for like, $5. After bleaching it, you can make it any color you want. And it will help to your advantage since you wanna go back to blonde!

yes you can, all you have to do is bleach it, and dye it back, or if you want you can keep letting it grow, and keep cutting an inch of the black hair off. and keep doing that until you get all blonde, kinda stupid, but thats one way, i think theres something you can do to get the black off your hair. you can go ask a hair stylist

It will really damage your hair badly. dying your hair black is one of the worst things you can do to your hair. its right up there with bleaching it.
