i have black hair w/ orange streaks at the top.. my natural hair color is dirty blonde..ive dyed my hair alot, and now i want blonde--im scared to do color remaval cuz it might break my hair off, and i dont know if i should just bleach it........what would u do??

Over time you will lose your hair, you will notice the follicle start to thin; %26amp; then the parts start to widen. Go to your beauty supply %26amp; get a color without bleach. I believe it is called Kalidacolor. Or try a Born Blonde lotion toner without peroxide.

the color removal will do less damage than the bleaching, when i had my hair black thats what i had to do. just do lots of hot oil treatments while your in the process of getting it back blond, i'm a constant dyer myself probably eight colors this year. just keep it healthy.

You need to have a consultation with a professional colorist.The procedure that needs to be done is very tricky and if you attempt to do it yourself,you may end up giving yourself a chemical haircut...or worse!

ALI....LEAVE YOUR HAIR ALONE FOR A WHILE!!! Do not touch your hair until you have had at least 2 trimmings to get rid of the "dead" ends....and then go to a professional colorist and get her/his opinion. Black dye is the hardest color to remove..if your hair has been dyed numerous times..the hair shaft becomes weakened and compromised....if you were to bleach the black out...your hair would literally turn to a "ball of fuzz" or break off. Leave it alone unitl you can get professional intervention, period. Good luck!

I used to manage a hair salon AND I am a licensed professional. So please, heed my advice.

Have you been dying your hair more often than once every six weeks?

Does your hair feel very dry or brittle?

Does it break off easily?

Do you have little short hairs sticking up/out around your hair line and part?

If you answered yes to any of these questions you deffinitely should NOT use any type of chemical on your hair! It will ruin it and your hair will literally break off. Then, you'll have to cut it short. Believe me. I've seen it before. Here's the solution:

First of all, go out and get yourself a professional reconstructor. Don't buy anything from Wal-mart or the drugstore either, even if it is professional (such as Paul Mitchell or TiGi bedhead). The sales of these products to these store have not been approved by the manufacturer. They may be very old or contain tons of bacteria. Also, if you do not have a professional shampoo and conditioner; get some NOW. They're more expensive for a reason: the ingredients are better for your hair and purer.

What's the best to buy? Try Joico K-pak reconstructor and shampoo and conditioner. You can buy these at most chain salons such as Trade Secret, Beauty Brands, Regis, Mastercuts.

Next, reconstruct 2 times a week until your hair feels soft and silky and you don't have any of the problems mentioned above.

Then, don't go to the drugstore and buy a home bleaching kit. Go to the salon. Most salons have a color remover that doesn't harm your hair so you won't have to go thru the pain and damage of bleach. After color is removed from hair, your hair should be left as the same color as the inside of a banana peel. Take note: this product only removes the color on your hair. Whatever hair that has no dye on it will be left as it is.

Then the stylist will dye your hair what you want it to be.

It depends on how many times you've dyed your hair (black inparticular) Black hair color isnt like any other type, its more permanent. If you were to dye your hair black 7 times (Root colorings) you wouldnt be able to color it at all, now i've had black hair once before too, just once! I tried dying it, and it doesnt come out. You are better off bleaching it, but let me tell you, go to a proffesional if you're afraid to do it. and if you have long hair, dont bleach it yourself. Trust me. Go see a professional! %26lt;- even if just to ask them what to do. Best of luck!
